Targets and Profiles
The system can record targets for new outpatient referrals, admissions (elective and emergency), and removals from the waiting list. Targets, or expected, figures can be entered manually or provided from an external source (for example contract targets). Manually entered annual figures will be (roughly) profiled by the system, which will also allow adjustment to account for expected seasonal trends etc.

Targets figures may also be generated from previous year's actual activity, with a factored increase or decrease.


Forecast
The system will use the information held to provide a forecast for major activity measures. Calculations will examine the monthly variance to date and compare this against targets (for seasonal trends) to provide a variance ratio. The system will use this ratio to forecast the activity by month for the rest of the year.
